Julia Da Campo is a multifaceted artist based in Verona, Italy.

Born in a small town in Italy, Julia exhibited a passion for the arts and a multidisciplinary approach to life from a young age.

PHOTOGRAPHY

From a young age, Julia showed a deep curiosity for nature. Growing up in the natural beauty of Verona and its surroundings, it was easy to find inspiration in the lake, the picturesque hills, the architecture, the many natural parks and stunning mountains in the area. This early exposure to nature would lay the foundation for her nature photography works.

Julia has been dedicated to nature photography as a creative work for the past 13 years, capturing the beauty of the natural world both during her travels and in her hometown. Through her lens, Julia invites us to appreciate the delicate beauty that exists all around us. She brings a poetic eye to her work, capturing the wonders of nature with stunning detail and vibrant colours. From colourful blooms to far-off galaxies and nebulas captured with professional telescopes, by her father Salvatore Da Campo, Julia’s artistry celebrates both the earth and sky. Her photography collection, presented as “Terra e Cielo”, is an immersive visual experience that underlines the intricate connections between our planet’s flora and the celestial wonders above. It includes more than 100 works. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries in Italy and in London.

WRITING

Inspired by a deep devotion for literature, Julia began expressing herself through writing from a young age, developing a profound appreciation for storytelling, particularly in the forms of poetry and short stories. She graduated in History and International Politics at the University of Padua, with a thesis titled: “How Much Is a Life Worth?”.  The work explores the dangers of mass media manipulation and includes a detailed analysis of Anna Politkovskaya’s courageous journalism during the Chechen War. During her university years, she also cultivated an interest in journalism, collaborating with several newspapers.

After University, her writing style shifted. She started focusing more on the topic of love, romantic relationships, human psychology and human nature. It was the fascination for love and its complexities that ultimately led her to write her first book. Julia, being bilingual, writes both in her mother tongue (Italian) and English. Her debut book “The book of Love” explores the multifaceted nature of love through five distinct chapters. Five, like the senses, each section captures a different emotional landscape, inviting readers to a journey through the highs and lows of love. With rich imagery and poignant language, the collection resonates with anyone who has experienced the spectrum of love, making it a touching addition to contemporary poetry. This book captures how she experienced and witnessed love, passion, betrayal, heartache and loss and what she learned from it.

Throughout the years 2022, 2023, and 2024, she curated and organized many live poetry readings events. Sharing her poems and bringing her words to life, accompanied by live music, gave a more performative dimension to the art of writing.

Julia is dedicated to celebrating the power of poetry and fostering a sense of community through her work.

MUSIC

During her teenage years she avidly consumed Classic Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Blues & Soul records.

She studied music, for four years. Classical and acoustic guitar at Deborah Kooperman’s music school “Notorius”, and then electric jazz with Maestro Fabrizio Scrivano. She then took harmony and piano lessons, with pianist and Hammond organ player Bruno Marini. With time she gravitated more and more towards electric guitar and spent a lot of time improvising and getting lost in the music, particularly blues.

In 2023 she published her first two singles, “Hoogie Boogie” and “I’m A Woman” which are two instrumental records with a vintage blues-rock flavor.

In 2024 she collaborated with multi instrumentalist Sitarvala, creating a Psychedelic Blues Indian Fusion duo that blended the sound of the electric guitar with the sitar.

She played many live shows in Italy and a few in UK.
